I installed Win7 however upon completing the entire installation process (incl. Drivers) I have an Unknown Device at the device manager. I tried to let windows check for driver online but of no luck windows did not find any. I've been using Vista ultimate SP1 and had no trouble w/ all the drivers before I installed Win7. I remember during the driver installation I had an error messsage when installing the Realtek HD Audio (I was installing Realtek 5477), however i can hear sound on my laptop and the sound works just fine. Snowtape 2 Keygen Free. Does anyone know how i can identify what device is unknown and driver?
Hello, I'd suggest installing the previous device drivers in the Compatibility Wizard. Remove that hardware device in Device Manager, right-click on the driver executable/installer file and select the Compatibility tab; click the checkbox before Run this program in Compatibility mode for option and select Windows Vista in the list-down box; then try installing the device driver. If the problem still persists, please understand that Windows 7 is a new operating system (only the beta version) and whole driverstore has been reprogrammed; some old driver is not compatible with new OS. I suggest that you should wait for another period of time till the retail version is released and push the vendor company to upgrade their device driver. Thanks for your time and understanding!
You said had, does that mean you have sorted the issue? If not have you tried installing the battery software off the cd in Compatibility mode? Right click on the installer file, select Properties, Compatibility Tab, select Vista as OS, then put a tick in Run as Administrator at the bottom as well, Apply/OK then try running the installer file again. (Strangely, Windows 7 seems to recognise compatibility mode being set on CD/DVD's as well, have done this and removed and replaced a cd and the setting was still kept. Haven't tried checking after a reboot yet though.) I'll be back to check later to see if you got it working or not, just now i should have been in bed about 6 hours ago, so thats where i'm going now. Hello efrain i tried that already.
After after i noticed the unknown device, 1st i've tried tried updating the driver from the manufacturers cd when that dosent work i uninstall the device from the device manager and reboot my computer (hoping that upon reboot windows will find the driver online but still no luck) i even tried the action center and click troubleshooting, then hardware and devices i let windows detect and solve the problem (and apply fix) after that i got this: This problem was caused by Smart Battery, which was created by Compal Electronics, Inc. Solution Download and install the driver for Smart Battery from the manufacturer's website: Follow the directions on the manufacturer's website to install the driver for Smart Battery. I doubt its anything to do with the DVI issue, from what i can find out it appears to be the remote control receiver. With regards to DVI a few people have noticed problems with DVI connections not showing up any picture, but switching to VGA resolves the issue, not sure why, but some video cards are defaulting to 59Hz as opposed to 60Hz and this seems to be a common cause,i suspect this is something to do with drivers, although whether its Video card or Monitor Driver i dont know. Ok think this should be a direct link to the CIR driver.
From what i've found you don't *NEED* the remote control device so you can leave it as an unknown device, however, I would say its worth trying the driver from that direct link(the last one i posted) and see if it resolves the issue. Personally i dont like having any unknown devices in device manager,as you never know if one unknown device could be responsible for random errors and performance issues. Plus we currently have no guarantee that it is actually what i believe it is. If its a different device then it could be causing different problems. So in that respect i would say try downloading and installing the driver.
